BYD did a needle puncture test.
First, the ternary lithium battery was tested. As a result, the surface temperature of the battery exceeded 500°C and burned violently at the moment of puncture.
Then the blade battery was tested. After the needle puncture, BYD’s blade battery did not catch fire or smoke, and the surface temperature was within 60 degrees. Even the eggs were intact.
It proves that the blade battery is super safe.
Compared with the laboratory test, the test in life is more convincing.
I watched a video. A BYD Tang was hit by a dump truck and flew dozens of meters away. The main driver’s door of the BYD Tang had been smashed to pieces, but the battery pack still did not spontaneously combust or catch fire. The airbag opened instantly. The owner was only slightly injured. He was still conscious after being hit by the truck.
