According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in May 2025, 551,000 vehicles were exported, a month-on-month increase of 6.6% and a year-on-year increase of 14.5%. By vehicle type, 468,000 passenger cars were exported, an increase of 8.5% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 17.7%; 83,000 commercial vehicles were exported, a decrease of 2.8% month-on-month and a decrease of 0.5% year-on-year.
From January to May 2025, 2.49 million vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 7.9%. By vehicle type, 2.079 million passenger cars were exported, a year-on-year increase of 7.4%; 411,000 commercial vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 10.5%.

In May 2025, among the top ten vehicle exporters, Chery exported 101,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 9%, accounting for 18.3% of the total exports. Compared with the same period last year, BYD’s export growth rate was the most significant, with exports reaching 89,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 1.3 times.
From January to May 2025, among the top ten vehicle exporters, Chery exported 442,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%, accounting for 17.7% of the total exports. Compared with the same period last year, BYD’s export growth rate was the most significant, with exports reaching 382,000 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 1.1 times.
