Huawei’s battery black technology: redefining the limit of range for new energy vehicles! In the field of new energy vehicles, Huawei is redefining the limit of range with a series of disruptive battery technologies, bringing unprecedented changes to the industry.

Huawei’s solid-state battery technology is the core engine of the ‘range revolution’. It uses a nitrogen-doped sulfide electrolyte, and through the cubic crystal structure design, the ion conduction efficiency is increased to more than 1.5 times that of traditional liquid electrolytes. Laboratory data shows that the energy density of vehicles equipped with this technology reaches 600Wh/kg, twice that of Tesla’s 4680 battery, and a single charge can achieve a range of 3,000 kilometres, which is equivalent to going straight from Beijing to Guangzhou without having to replenish energy.

Huawei’s black phosphorus battery technology opens up another performance leap. As a ‘super material’ after graphene, black phosphorus is seven times more powerful than traditional graphite negative electrodes. In terms of safety, the high thermal stability and low reactivity of black phosphorus crystals ensure that the battery remains stable during extreme tests such as pinprick and extrusion, completely eliminating the risk of spontaneous combustion.

Behind the technological breakthroughs is Huawei’s in-depth insight into full-scene mobility needs. Its intelligent electric DriveONE system extends energy-efficiency optimisation from the single point of the battery to the entire vehicle system through the concept of ‘degree of battery life’. It promotes new energy vehicles to enter the era of ‘ten kilometres of electricity for all’, allowing the ultimate experience of ‘one second, one kilometre’ to cover major travel scenarios.

Huawei’s battery revolution is accelerating from the lab to the mass production line. A 100-tonne pilot line has been built in the Yangtze River Delta region, with a yield rate of 92% for 20Ah batteries; the loading test in cooperation with China FAW, BYD, and other automotive companies will be launched in the second half of 2025, and mass production of all-solid-state battery models will be achieved in 2026.

Huawei’s battery black technology: redefining the range limit of new energy vehicles! When a range of 3,000 kilometres becomes a reality, and when 5-minute charging covers the daily commute, Huawei is using the power of technology to promote the evolution of new-energy vehicles from a ‘tool’ to an ‘intelligent mobility space’, and to open up a whole new era of green mobility.
