With the development of science and technology, new energy vehicles are gradually welcomed by consumers, and more and more people are beginning to choose new energy vehicles as their means of transportation. There are many types of models that use electric technology on the market, including pure electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, extended-range hybrid vehicles, etc. What are the differences between them?

01. Pure electric vehicles

Pure electric vehicles refer to vehicles that are purely powered by electricity. They do not require other energy, such as gasoline, diesel, etc. It can be charged through household power (ordinary sockets), dedicated charging piles or specific charging places to meet daily driving needs.

02. Hybrid vehicles

Hybrid vehicles are vehicles that use electric motors as auxiliary power to drive the engine. They do not need to be charged at ordinary times. As long as they are refueled, they can drive normally, which is no different from traditional power vehicles. However, when starting and accelerating, due to the assistance of electric motors, performance can be maintained without loss, while reducing fuel consumption.

03. Plug-in hybrid vehicles

Plug-in hybrid vehicles are operated in a mode where the internal combustion engine is the main power source and the electric motor assists the drive. The electric motor can output power together with the engine, and it will have very abundant power before the battery is exhausted. However, the engine cannot help charge the battery, and the battery still needs to be charged through a power source and a charging pile.

04. Extended-range type

The extended-range type is a vehicle that uses an engine to generate electricity and an electric motor to drive it. When the battery pack is fully charged, it uses pure electric mode to drive, and when the power is insufficient, the engine in the car starts, drives the generator to charge the power battery, and provides power for the motor to run (i.e. extended-range type).

These types of cars have their own advantages, and it is best for everyone to choose a model that suits them according to their needs and preferences.

Plug-in hybrid: suitable for friends who have charging conditions and pursue low fuel consumption and high performance.

Extended-range type: suitable for friends who like the driving experience of electric vehicles, but are worried about the endurance problem.

Oil hybrid: suitable for friends who don’t want to toss charging, just want to save fuel but want to maintain the driving habits of fuel vehicles.
