New energy trucks rely on batteries and motors to drive the battery, which can be said to be the “heart” of a new energy truck. Follow the relatives service to learn how to maintain this “heart” in daily driving!
01. Accelerator pedal, step gently
When starting, new energy truck friends must pay attention to stepping on the accelerator pedal lightly. If a new energy truck accelerates violently at the start, it will cause a large current discharge of the battery, thereby damaging the physical properties of the battery plate and affecting the battery life.
02. Avoid exposure to the sun and freezing
When parking your vehicle, new energy truck friends usually need to pay attention to the surrounding environment. If a new energy truck is exposed to the sun for a long time or parked in an environment with too high a temperature, it will cause the internal pressure of the battery to increase and the battery to lose water, causing the battery activity to decrease. Similarly, if it is parked in a cold environment for a long time, it will also affect the battery’s endurance and have an adverse effect on the performance of the battery pack.
03. Over-discharge is not feasible
New energy trucks should avoid frequent over-discharge and under-charging, which will shorten the battery life. During use, cardholders should determine the charging time and efficiency according to the actual vehicle conditions. If the indicator light on the power gauge is on, charge as soon as possible, otherwise the battery will be over-discharged and its life will be affected, and insufficient charging will occur, causing the SOC to be falsely high.
04. Ventilate before turning on the air conditioner
The weather is hot in summer, and cardholders often turn on the air conditioner immediately after getting on the car. However, turning on the cooling directly in the closed cab after being exposed to the sun will put the battery under double high temperature pressure, which will not only consume power faster, but also affect the battery life. It is recommended that cardholders open the windows for about one minute in advance to dissipate heat before turning on the air conditioner, which will not only save more power, but also make the car environment cooler and more comfortable faster.
05. Charging while using is not advisable
During daily charging, high-power electrical appliances should be disabled. Using air conditioners, seat heating and other equipment during charging will cause the battery to frequently switch between charging and discharging states, accelerating aging. Actual measurements show that turning on the air conditioner during charging will extend the charging time by 15%-20%.
Note: The daily cumulative charging power should not exceed 1.5 times the current power as much as possible.
06. Regular inspection, good habits
Regular inspection is an essential part for both traditional fuel trucks and new energy trucks. Before driving, truck drivers need to observe the status of the vehicle dashboard to ensure that the battery system is in normal condition and there is no abnormal alarm information before starting on the road.
If the mileage of new energy vehicles drops significantly during use, it is very likely that there is a problem with the battery pack. At this time, you should go to the service station for inspection in time.
07. Battery maintenance, regular maintenance
In the daily operation of truck drivers, regular battery maintenance is also essential. Normally operating vehicles must perform “battery maintenance” at least once a year, and vehicles that have not been used for a long time must perform “battery maintenance” every three months.
Battery maintenance method:
①The vehicle is parked in a spacious, flat and safe location, and complete charging equipment is required here.
②Adjust the battery power (SOC) of the vehicle within the range of 25%-40%.
③After the vehicle stops, turn off the power (turn the key to OFF), then start the power (turn the key to ON), and turn off the on-board electrical equipment.
④ Keep the vehicle powered on (keep the key in the ON position) and leave it alone for 12-15 hours without manual supervision.
⑤ After the end of the rest period, a full charge is required.
