Battery performance is significantly affected by temperature; both excessively high and low temperatures accelerate degradation. Some shields incorporate thermal insulation materials that reduce heat transfer to the battery pack in high-temperature environments, preventing capacity loss due to overheating. In cold conditions, the shield slows heat loss, helping the battery maintain optimal operating temperatures.
