On May 11, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers learned that the latest data showed that in the first five months of this year, automobile production and sales increased by more than 10% year-on-year. At present, the overall operation of my country’s automobile industry is showing a stable and positive trend.
Data shows that from January to May, automobile production and sales reached 12.826 million and 12.748 million respectively, up 12.7% and 10.9% year-on-year respectively. Among them, the production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 5.699 million and 5.608 million respectively, up 45.2% and 44% year-on-year respectively, and the sales of new energy vehicles reached 44% of the total sales of new vehicles.
“New energy vehicle exports show a stable and positive trend”
In terms of exports, from January to May, automobile exports were 2.49 million, a year-on-year increase of 7.9%. Among them, new energy vehicles were exported 855,000, a year-on-year increase of 64.6%. In May, new energy passenger vehicles exported 200,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 80.9% and a month-on-month increase of 5.8%. It accounts for 44.6% of passenger car exports, an increase of 17 percentage points over the same period last year; among them, pure electric vehicles account for 66% of new energy exports (81% in the same period last year), and AOO+AO-level pure electric vehicles, which are the core focus, account for 39% of new energy exports (37% in the same period last year). In May, the outstanding enterprises in terms of new energy exports were: BYD (84,068 units), Chery Automobile (25,748 units), Tesla China (23,074 units), SAIC Passenger Vehicle (13,374 units), Geely Automobile (7,623 units), Beam Auto (7,232 units), SAIC-GM-Wuling (6,932 units), Volvo Asia Pacific (4,659 units), Leapmotor (3,658 units), Xpeng Motors (3,605 units), Polestar Motors (3,208 units), Great Wall Motors (3,135 units), Changan Automobile (2,986 units), Dongfeng Motor (2,262 units), Changan Mazda (2,148 units), FAW Hongqi (1,423 units), Zhimada Automobile (1,233 units), GAC Aion (1,021 units), Jiangsu Yueda Kia (840 units). Other automakers also have a certain scale of new energy exports.
With the scale advantage of China’s new energy vehicles and the market expansion demand, more and more new energy brand products made in China are exported, and their recognition overseas continues to increase. Among them, plug-in hybrids account for 32% of new energy exports. Although they have been disturbed by some external countries recently, the export of independent plug-in hybrids to developing countries has grown rapidly and has a bright future.
