On July 1, BYD was the first to announce its June sales data, selling 382,585 vehicles this month, setting a new record for June sales. Among them, 377,628 passenger cars were sold, an increase of 11% year-on-year. Passenger cars, pickup trucks and overseas sales reached 89,699 units, rounded to 90,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 229.8%, more than doubling.

BYD Auto’s entrepreneurial history is the history of China’s new energy vehicles overtaking on the curve. BYD has transformed from battery manufacturing to automobile manufacturing, and in 2022, it will abandon fuel vehicles and develop new energy vehicles.

Due to its advantages in the entire industrial chain, BYD has been running wild in the field of new energy vehicles, far ahead of its competitors. 1.84 million vehicles will be delivered in 2022, 3.02 million vehicles will be delivered in 2023, 4.27 million vehicles will be delivered in 2024, and 5.2 million vehicles are expected to be delivered this year. As of June, BYD has achieved sales of 2.146 million vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 33%, and is expected to achieve its full-year target.

In June, the sales of BYD’s four major brands are as follows:

1. BYD Dynasty + Ocean sales exceeded 340,000 units

BYD’s Dynasty and Ocean series accounted for about 90% of the group’s total sales. In June, the Dynasty and Ocean series sold a total of 342,737 units.

BYD Dynasty has Qin, Qin L; Yuan, Yuan UP; Song, Song L; Han, Han L; Tang, Tang L; Xia and other models, covering plug-in hybrid and pure electric models. Among them, Han is benchmarked against Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi sedans, becoming a substitute for joint venture luxury cars. Tang is benchmarked against joint venture luxury SUVs, and has also greatly diverted high-net-worth consumers. Xia is a mid-level MPV, forming BYD’s nanny car double swordsman with Denza.

BYD Ocean has Seagull, Dolphin, Seal, Sea Lion, Song PLUS, e2, Destroyer 05, Frigate 07 and other models. Correspondingly, there are models benchmarked against the Dynasty series, such as Seal corresponding to Dynasty’s Han, Destroyer 05 corresponding to Dynasty’s Qin, and Frigate 07 corresponding to Dynasty’s Tang. With the optimization of the marine series products, the names of the later frigate 07, destroyer 05 and e2, and even Song PLUS will be replaced by new marine life names.

2. Fangcheng Bao Automobile Sales Exceed 18,000 Units

Fangcheng Bao Automobile sold 18,903 units in June, a month-on-month increase of 50.1%. Fangcheng Bao currently has three models, Leopard 5, Leopard 8, and Titanium 3. Not long after the launch of Titanium 3, it has opened up a niche market on its own and has become the first choice for square box SUV consumers with its high cost-effectiveness. Fangcheng Bao Titanium 7 is also expected to be launched within the year.

3. Denza Automobile Sales Exceed 15,000 Units

Denza Automobile sold 15,783 units in June, almost the same as the sales in May. Denza Automobile has a total of 4 models, Denza D9, Denza N7, Denza Z9GT and Denza N9, with strong product strength, but sales are not as expected.

4. Yangwang Automobile Sales Exceed 200 Units

Yangwang Automobile sold 205 units in June, a month-on-month increase of 47%. BYD Yangwang has three models: SUV Yangwang U8/U8L, supercar Yangwang U9 and U7, priced at 1.098 million, 1.68 million and 628,000, and they are all super luxury models that can be sold in large quantities in China. Yangwang U8 can wade through water, and U9 can “dance” on the spot, which provides unique emotional value for high-net-worth wealthy people.

5. Exports approach 90,000 vehicles

BYD exported 89,699 vehicles in June, a year-on-year increase of 229.8% and a month-on-month increase of 1.2%, setting a historical high. This is also the second time that BYD has exported more than 80,000 vehicles in a month. Overseas sales in the first half of the year totaled more than 470,000 vehicles, accounting for 22% of the group’s total sales.

Summary: BYD sold 380,000 vehicles in June, exported 90,000 vehicles, and doubled its overseas market.
